Home Organizing:
When I arrive at an on-sight consultation the first thing I look for is “wasted” (underutilized) space. Then I reorchestrate the space in my mind, sequencing the steps needed to reach my client’s goals. Seeing and using all of the available space in the most cost-effective manner is my greatest strength as a professional Home Organizer. Brooke’s apartment was a perfect example of “wasted space.” At the on-sight consultation, I saw the solution to her problem immediately. I needed to create a closet in the underutilized space in her bedroom. I was eager to dive in right away and asked if we could work together that evening for two hours. Brooke’s efficiency was a great opportunity to be creative. Thinking outside the box is my other strength. Brooke was thrilled with the results. When I called a few months later she told me the space was still organized. I was equally pleased. If your space is cluttered, not working for you or is just plain getting on your nerves, let’s have a conversation about how we can create a space that better suits your needs. Schedule a Consultation Call Before AfterBefore AfterBefore AfterHow I Helped Brooke Manage Her Small SpaceProblem: Brook’s studio apartment is very small and has extremely limited storage space. Every surface was cluttered including the floor. She is a talented quilter and had a vast collection of fabric that was here and there and everywhere.
Solution: We repurposed a nook in her bedroom that was underutilized space to create a storage area for her quilting supplies and linens. The fabrics were stored in clear plastic containers that stacked on the floor and the lower shelves. Linens were stored in larger plastic containers on the upper shelves. Anything that did not have an immediate use was donated or discarded. Result: The apartment was much more aesthetically pleasing and it is much easier for Brook to keep her apartment clean. Maintaining order in a small space is challenging so I offered Brook a “maintenance plan” of her choice: monthly, quarterly, or semiannually. Testimonial: “I felt cramped and overwhelmed. I knew I had too much stuff for my small space but I couldn’t figure out how to get any of it out or where it should go once it was out. Having help actually moving stuff out of the apartment was critical for me. Bobbie took the donations with her to get them out immediately. I now have a storage shelf in a corner. I had never considered putting a shelf in because that’s where my Christmas tree went. Now I feel like I can breathe and invite people over without saying “Ignore the piles.” - Brooke
