Home Organizing:
Failed New Year's Resolutions: The date of Feb 1st has come and gone. That is that date by which 2/3 of Americans give up on their NY resolutions. According to a recent survey by The National Association of Professional Organizers of 2000 Americans, ½ of Americans attribute their “failure” to lack of discipline, a busy lifestyle and not being able to find the time to see their resolution through. Did you make a resolution to be more organized or to declutter your home or home office? Did you start out with great enthusiasm and grand visions but life got in the way? If you still want to get more organized and get your home or home office decluttered, here are a few tips. Successfully following through with your resolution to be more organized requires:
The key to decluttering and organizing is to simplify, simplify, simplify. As you declutter to simplify your home and work space you may discover that less is liberating, less is less overwhelming, less is less stressful. Visualize how it will feel when you have achieved your goal of being more organized. If you know you need help, the first step in getting more organized is to call me today. Let’s push that RESET button together. Before After How I Helped Charlotte and Dave Problem: Charlotte’s pantry was out of control. Her business had really taken off and her husband was working overtime at work and doing his best to pick up the slack at home. When life slowed down, they called me to help restore order to their pantry/laundry/storage area. Solution: We consolidated Charlotte’s husband’s tools and automotive supplies on the shelves and put them in boxes and containers. Then we decluttered and organized the shelves in the laundry area to clear off the top of the washer and put the laundry supplies within easy reach. Charlotte will purchase a laundry hamper to presort laundry to clear the floor. Before After Problem: The shelves of food were overcrowded and the family was wasting money with expired food. Charlotte’s daughters’ art supplies were out of control and she wanted to eliminate the tall shelf. Solution: We emptied the closet of toys that her daughters had outgrown. Her husband installed shelves to create a pantry. When they had moved into their home two years ago, the art supplies had been organized. After purging dried up paint, etc., order was restored. Testimonial: “I felt completely overwhelmed and was lost as to where to start and how to organize the area. Bobbie has many terrific organizing ideas. She pushes the project along and gives you day and night results.” Dave B Morrisville PA After
