Are you stressing because your children’s playroom is a disaster and already overflowing with toys?

Follow these simple steps:
  • Throw away all toys and puzzles that are broken or missing parts.
  • Ask your children which toys and books they would like to share with a child in need.
  •  They may surprise you and be willing to discard more toys and books than you expect.
  • Give your children a heads up that you need 15 minutes of their time. Agree on a time for later that day or the next day. Then stick to the deal of 15 minutes per session.
  • Pick up one item at a time and ask  "Keep or Toss?" Then put the item in the "donate" or "discard" bag or box. To keep up a quick pace play their favorite music with a good beat.
  • Put the bags in the front seat of the car and drop them off at a thrift shop ASAP.
If you have reached the breaking point but know you need help NOW, call me. Your children may be more cooperative playing “Keep or Toss” with someone who is not Mom. After the room is purged, the room will be organized in no time.

How I Helped Samantha

Problem: Samantha is a busy mom with a demanding career and could never find the time to organize her son’s playroom. With an upcoming birthday immediately after Christmas something had to be done Now.

Solution: I suggested purchasing some cubed unit shelving and bins for storage of Cameron’s action figures. We did some major purging and donated a carload of toys.

Outcome: Cameron was thrilled that he could find the remote to his favorite cars. He no longer had to dump a large bin of action figures to find the ones he wanted to play with.

Testimonial: “I was very anxious about where we were going to put all of my son's new toys from Christmas. Bobbie created plenty of room for all the new toys in just a few hours.
I was ashamed of the way my house looked when people would come over but now I am proud of how the room looks when I have company."
