Home Organizing:
Thanksgiving is almost here. If you are hosting, is your mind reeling with how you are going to pull it off? “The dining room table is covered with papers and Halloween decorations! I can’t even find the bed in the guest room!” Here are a few tips on how to plan a less stressful and more enjoyable holiday season:
I can help you prepare for the holidays so you can be a relaxed and gracious host. Call me today: 215-300-5543 or click HERE to schedule a consultation. People are curious . . . . People often ask me "What does your house look like?" Except for my husband's work bench my home is very organized. Except the files on my laptop. My Virtual Assistant and I spent three hours decluttering and organizing my files. I didn't know how or where to start and was feeling stressed and overwhelmed. When we were finished, I felt more in control and confident that I could find what I need. I realized I had experienced exactly what my clients feel like before and after I work with them. She took me from overwhelmed to organized. I can do the same for you. Before AfterWanda's Guest RoomProblem: The guest room had become “Chuck’s room; the room where you chuck stuff “just for now.” Solution: We decluttered the closet and hung up the clothes she wanted to keep and bagged up the rest for donations. Outcome: Wanda was ready for guests and the dresser was cleared off for her guest’s convenience. Note: It isn’t a just a matter of clearing off the bed. You need to create room in the closet where the clothes belong. Some of the clothes may have been tossed on the bed when Wanda was getting dressed because they didn’t fit, didn’t look right . . . those clothes need to be set aside to be donated. Before AfterChloe's Dining RoomProblem: Chloe’s dining room had become a “dump zone” for whatever she didn’t have time to put away and the holidays were fast approaching.
Solution: We made space in the basement for items rarely used and space in the china cabinet to display decorative items. We processed and filed the mail and papers on the table. Outcome: Chloe’s dining room was ready for hosting Thanksgiving and her entertaining supplies in the basement were organized. Note: It isn’t just a matter of clearing off the dining room table. The items need to be returned to where they belong and that space typically needs to be decluttered and organized to make room for the “stuff” that was on the dining room table.
