Best Organizing Tips for Moms and Dads of  Young Children

Hello ,
Do you feel like you can barely keep your head above water because there is always so much to do? Try these tips to make raising a family less stressful and more joyful.
Creating routines and good habits early makes parenting easier and less stressful.
  • In the morning, have the kids put their pj’s on a hook if they can be worn again.
  • In the evening make a game of cleaning up that is age appropriate. For little ones you can sing the "clean up song." For older children create a fun competition.
  • At bedtime give each child a basket to gather their clothes and belongings that need to be put away. Have them put these items away while you run their bath.
  • At bath time, have a system for where dirty clothes go; straight into the washer or into a clothes basket in their bedroom. Eliminate the hamper for one less step.
  • To prevent losing puzzle pieces and pieces of toys with small parts, place them in a zip lock bag the first time your child plays with the toy or puzzle.
  • Store toy swords, wands and guns vertically in a separate tall plastic hamper or wastebasket. (Rolls of wrapping paper can also be stored the same way.)
  • Save time sorting socks: buy six or more pairs of the same color and size.
  • Buy two pairs of the same gloves or mittens. If you lose one, you still have a matching pair without the need to go shopping.
  • Put hooks on the inside of the coat closet so children can hang their own coats, lunchboxes and backpacks.
  • Have a system for keeping shoes neat: a shoe rack in the hallway or coat closet or a small laundry basket in the coat closet for each member of the family.
Your home should be clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy. That's what my dear old mother always said. I agree!
