How I Helped Isabelle
|
Problem: Isabelle was having difficulty maintaining her home due to multiple falls and hospitalizations over the past two years.
Solution: Bobbie scheduled a plumber to repair the garbage disposal and a handyman to install a new lock on the front door. She also scheduled a landscaper to trim the bushes, do a fall clean up and clean out the gutters. Problem: Isabelle was having trouble keeping up with her mail and her pantry was full of expired food. Solution: Her son and I sorted through the papers on her dining room table and boxes and boxes of paper throughout the house. She hired a daily money manager to assure that her bills were paid on time. |
How I Helped Betty
|
Problem: Betty was not safe living independently in her home. There were piles of paper on every surface and bills were not being paid on time. The hallway was so cluttered she couldn’t maneuver safely with her walker. Every upholstered piece of furniture was covered with clothes and clutter.
Solution: Bobbie and Betty’s son cleared off the kitchen counters, table and chairs so Betty could function in her kitchen. We sorted through the mountain of paper and set aside bills to be paid and important papers to be filed. We made room in the closets so we could remove the clutter in the hallway. |
How I helped Dolores
|
Problem: Dolores could not reach her winter accessories in her coat closet because they were in a heavy tub on a high shelf.
Solution: Bobbie purchased a hanging shoe organizer on the inside of Dolores’ coat closet to make her winter accessories visible and accessible. Problem: When Dolores moved in, she didn’t know where to put all of her craft supplies. Solution: Bobbie had maintenance hang an extra shelf below the rod in her closet so that Dolores could reach the boxes of her craft supplies. Problem: Dolores needed help packing up her Christmas decorations. She has a bad back and moving boxes is very fatiguing for her. Solution: I helped her pack up her decorations and had maintenance add an extra shelf in her bedroom closet. Her nephew helps her get the decorations down from the shelves in December. I come back in January and help her finish her Christmas cookies. |
